Last week it was late at night and I went to let the dog inside, we have a street light on our property that we really enjoy (since we have a bunch of creepy people who walk down our street) but it had flickered off which it does from time to time. But it was soooo bright outside it practically looked like daylight! I went ahead and stepped out onto the steps and it was absolutely amazing!
The sky was very clear and a light gray color (not black like the pictures show) and it was a beautiful full moon. Not that a full moon isn't a normal event but I have never seen it like this.
The moon itself was completely clear and defined. You could see every single crater perfectly. But around the moon itself was this clearing and then a perfect ring of light around it as well. And the ring was made up with the colors of the rainbow, a perfect prism surrounding it.
Let me tell you, it was gorgeous!
When I added the fill light you can kind of see the prism I am talking about. But the sky was so clear, bright and beautiful I wanted to capture the moment, but, alas no such luck with my little camera.
I love the sky and could never get tired of looking at it.
"And God made two great lights; the greater LIGHT to rule the day, and the lesser LIGHT to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give LIGHT upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the LIGHT from the darkness: and God saw that it was good." Genesis 1:16-18
God is indeed, very good. Y

Your description sounds beautiful! Makes me wish for such a night, such an opportunity to capture... Oh well, glad you enjoyed it. =) [in times like those, where I can't take pictures or it doesn't turn out how I want it to ~ I just say that some things have to be documented in my mind instead of on camera...]
God's creation never ceases to amaze me!
As I stood there looking at it I was like boy, I wish Ruth Ann could be able to see this and capture it on film! But at least it is in my mind. :)
It reminds me of the Rev. 4:3"a rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne..." & 21:23," the city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp." What you saw was just an appetizer for the feast of our senses in our heavenly home...can't wait :)
